Auberg'Inn is located near the villages of Sennecey le Grand and Tournus. The town of Tournus, in particular, is worth a visit, with the Abbey of Saint Philibert, whose 1000th anniversary was celebrated a few years ago, the historic hospital Hôtel Dieu (now a museum, open from May to September), and various other small museums and exhibitions. Chalon-sur-Saône was the home of Joseph Nicéphore Niépce, who is considered the inventor of photography. The photography museum in Chalon is dedicated to him. Chalon also has a pleasant city center https://www.achalon.com/ Before St. Peter's in Rome was built, the church of the Abbey of Cluny was the largest Christian structure in the world. The Cluniac order was very influential and present in many countries in Europe. The Abbey was partially destroyed during the revolution, with the building materials being reused elsewhere. The abbey attracts many visitors annually, as does the adjacent national stud farm (Haras). Cluny also has a small but charming center. https://www.cluny-tourisme.com/ Beaune is primarily known as the center of wine production in Burgundy. If you visit Beaune, a visit to the magnificent Hospices de Beaune, the historic hospital that now serves as a museum, is a must. A tour of the Fallot mustard factory is highly recommended, where they produce "Burgundian mustard" (a protected designation, unlike Dijon mustard). And, of course, a walk through the old town center. https://www.beaune-tourisme.fr/ Lyon, France's second-largest city, is about an hour's drive from the B&B and makes for a possible day trip. The old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. https://www.visiterlyon.com/ There are many walking and cycling routes in the immediate vicinity. We would be happy to tell you more about them at the B&B. We also have 2 electric bicycles available, should you wish to take a tour of the area. Last but not least, the B&B is located on the border of the Côte Chalonnaise and the Mâconnais, two wine regions that are part of Burgundy. The Côte de Beaune, Côtes de Nuits, and Beaujolais are also not far away.
